Indoor Air Quality Laboratory
The INEGI's Indoor Air Quality Laboratory is a pioneer project in Portugal, which emerged in 1996, still in the Institute of Mechanical Engineering (IDMEC), as one of the first to dedicate itself to the detailed characterisation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

It has the capacity to answer questions related to indoor air quality in undifferentiated spaces (schools, residences, offices, etc.), but also of industrial environments in the scope of occupational health.

The Indoor Air Quality Laboratory is able to answer to any request to support the industrial development of "clean" materials for building construction and automotive sector to ensure a healthier interior environment and to provide Portuguese materials and products better conditions for national and international markets.

It is, since February 2017, the first laboratory in the Iberian Peninsula to have the accreditation to evaluate the emissions of certain volatile organic compounds by building materials in test chambers.
